OH SWEET CHILD OF MINE

 Oh sweet child of mine,

I see that you weep,

day and night.

Soaked pillow covers and sleepless nights.

Guilt, shame, conflict.

Oh sweet child, forgive me,

for you had to play this game,

like adults,

unhappy,

torn.

You made choices, while packing away your

wishes,

hoping that you could bury them,

and make everyone happy,

for the sake of love.

O sweet child, where did you go?

How did you grow up like this?

Will you ever forgive me, my sweet child?
