LOSING SELF-RESPECT

‘You may search for a new job.’ Those were the last words of my boss. I questioned him, ‘What have I done, Sir?’ ‘I know you were behind the entire drama, now you either say sorry to Sana in front of everyone or leave the job!’ His words hit me hard. As my eyes were filled with tears a feeling of despair passed me but I composed myself. I left his office with a chaotic state of mind. I was a very firm man but at that moment I was indecisive on whether to quit the job or lose self-respect. I still couldn’t overcome the battle between my self-esteem and job. This war shattered me and finally when I had decided to leave the job, my responsibilities came in my way and they didn’t allow me to leave. KNOWLEDGE IS BETTER THAN WEALTH

The holy Quran says very clearly that those who know and those who don’t know, are not equal. That’s why the first revelation that descended on the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) in the cave of Hira, asked him to read in the name of Allah, who is the creator of the Universe. It was knowledge by which man was going to know his creator, God Almighty and discover for himself the eternal truth about life and death, by coming out of darkness, cruelty, ignorance and injustice. It was knowledge and knowledge alone, which not only brought changes in their social, moral, economical and political life but also changed the barbaric Arabs into the torch bearers and the most civilized people of the world. TECHNOLOGY, A CURSE!

Technology, is it a curse? Actually, it is everyone’s need. It is a very long debate but yes, we can say it is a curse. Let’s step into the time when there was no technology and everyone used to go outside, did physical exercise and had friends to play with, as a result they had a wonderful social life. However, now in the 21st century, this is not the case. Children and adults don’t like to socialize and do you know why? Because of the technology around us, people now prefer mobile gaming over physical sports. They have made their own fake world where friends, foes and everything is a bitter lie. And what do people get in return? Psychological damage, getting turned into couch potatoes and trapping themselves in an imaginary world. To sum up all, I can say that it is a curse .......isn’t it?
