IS COMPETITION GOOD?

No matter what part of life we are in, we find people competing with one another. Some compete to survive, while others compete with the hopes of attaining glory by winning. Competition can be good if done with a positive mind, knowing not to step on other peoples’ hard work. But it can sometimes be dangerous causing clashes in friendships. One must bear in mind that winning or losing in a certain competition doesn’t determine who we are, but they help shape our future. Pupils work hard to do better than anyone else, but forget the importance of helping one another to get better. Cooperation is always better than competition. People working together might create wonders, which would otherwise be impossible. ‘’Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further, but cooperation, which we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off.” -Franklin Roosevelt
