IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Almost every country has a history of mistreatment of women. In other words, women all over the world have played a revolutionary role in achieving the status that you have. While Western countries are still developing, countries like Pakistan are lagging behind in terms of women’s empowerment. “Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives their strength.” Pakistan is one of the countries where women are still not safe. There are many reasons to make such a statement. First, the country is in danger of killing women in the name of honour. Her family believes it is right to sacrifice her life if she embarrasses the status of her legacy. The state of literacy and democracy here is very conservative. Women are not entitled to higher education but are given early marriage. However, men are controlling women in some areas as it is the duty of a woman to serve them endlessly. In some places men do not allow their wives to go out and there is no freedom. Domestic violence has become a major issue in Pakistan. Husbands abuse their wives mentally and sometimes physically, considering them their property. This is usually because women are reluctant to speak. Similarly, women who actually work are paid less than their husbands. Giving someone more money for the same job just because of the different gender is totally unfair. We require to empower these women to talk for themselves and never suffer injustice. There are several ways to enable rights to women in Pakistan. The people and government need to come collectively to make it happen. Schooling for girls must be made mandatory so that women can grow more literate to build a life for themselves. Women must be provided equal opportunities in every area, irrespective of gender. They must also be awarded equal compensation for their work.
