HOW TO TAKE CARE OF STREET ANIMALS

Imagine you are alone on the street. You have nowhere to go, there is no one waiting for you or worrying about you anywhere in the whole city. You are so hungry that each movement seems to be unimaginable. There are hundreds of people going by but you cannot talk to them, they even do not notice you suffering badly while lying there on a cold pavement, neglected and exhausted. Is it fair? Should we close our eyes to the fact of homeless animals and their sufferings? People are often frightened of street animals because they think that they carry diseases that may affect their health. Street animals give the impression of being ill because they are often dirty and not taken care of properly. This fear of stray animals encourages their ill-treatment. Cruelty towards stray animals is common. Besides starvation and dehydration, they are also victims of human cruelty. Children often make them a source of fun by stoning them or hitting them. If street animals are not taken care of properly, they can cause harm to us especially dog bites causing rabies.

Therefore, people have a moral duty to treat the street animals kindly. Our religion also teaches us to be kind towards animals. Moreover, steps should be taken at both government and individual levels. The best thing we can do for them is to provide food, water, shelter, and treatment if needed. There should be some animals rescue helpline numbers. There should be some organizations that can arrange shelters and medical help for the street animals. Despite all, the most important thing is changing the attitude of the people towards the street animals. Only then we will be able to help the poor creatures.
