CONSEQUESCES OF THEFT

“Akif! Is the road clear?’’ Umar hissed from the wall. “Yeah, yeah jump out now,’’ Akif confirmed while standing by the car. Umar jumped down from the wall, dressed in black from head to toe, they checked all the precious items they had stolen, and drove into the darkness successfully. Meanwhile the owners of the house had sensed the theft, they checked their hidden cameras, got the number plate of the car and contacted police. ‘‘Akif bro this family was really rich, we got a lot of stuff today,’’ Umar told Akif while driving fast. “Yeah, and they won’t even report it in the police too because of the pressure of that rich community, Butt Sahib is running after some gold!’’ Akif said, and they both burst into laughter. A few moments later Akif and Umar could hear the sirens of police growing louder. “What the hell, I made sure nobody saw us. Then what’s with these sirens?’’ Akif exclaimed. “They might be just patrolling. We both have guns, so don’t worry, I’ll change the route, keeping to small unknown alleyways.’’ Umar, consoled Akif. However deep down, they both knew they were reported and they would surely get caught.

In darkness they turned alleyways left and right repeatedly. One turn they took to the right and saw a police car standing silent with policemen inside it. Akif screamed as the police started their car and charged towards them like hungry dogs. Umar had to reverse the car as the space was so small, that it was not possible to get the vehicle through the narrow alleyway with the police car coming towards them. They turned back into the street from which they had come from and sped their car. “These streets are small; I’ll get on to a main road Akif!” Umar told Akif. “No Umar, the police will have a better chance to spot us there.” Akif disagreed. “Shut up Akif! You know nothing.” Umar replied. Now they were on the main road and just like Akif had supposed, four police cars were on their chase. “Oh god, I don’t want to get caught, they will torture us as if we were in hell.” Akif started crying and praying. Umar was also really tense, his heart was throbbing, in confusion he pulled into a street just to know it was a dead end. They both lost their hearts. “I’ve only one solution left,” Akif said without expression. “And what’s that?” Umar asked eager to escape. Akif slowly pulled out his gun and without any second thought shot Umar. “I don’t want our families to know that we are thieves and above that I don’t want us to be tortured it’s more painful than death itself.” And he shot himself too. The best escape they could get.
