BEAUTY LIES IN THE LENS OF THE FILTER

Friends you must have heard this quote of Khalil Gibran: “Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.” But nowadays, it seems to be wrong if we expect inner beauty as a real beauty tool. Filters aren’t bad but they become problematic when you fail to recognize the real person behind them. Then we say “Maybe she’s born with this beauty or maybe it is just an Instagram filter.” Life was very easy before these filters. At least we wouldn’t look fake. Beautiful people were praised by everyone in the true sense. You can relate this with the historical portrait of Mona Lisa whose smile is priceless till today. Queen Elizabeth and Lady Diana were the symbols of beauty. Even we use their beauty to taunt each other. Like, if someone tries to look beautiful, we say: “O wow! You think of yourself as Queen Elizabeth.” Or we say, “Huh! You pose like you are Lady Diana.” Seems like everyone is trying to grade up their selfie look. I mean filters aren’t that bad but constantly changing your photos to show a slightly better version of yourself can have a physiological impact as well. This is being called “Snapchat Dysmorphia ‘’. Today our youth is striving for a very narrow concept of perfection, with so called Tiktok, Snapchat or Instagram. Beauty is not having a pretty face; it is about having a pretty mind, pretty heart and a pretty soul. So, my friends, please don’t hide behind the snapchat filters, you are beautiful, show the world the true you.
