Once I was studying late at night as I had my English paper next day. I was just doing my work when I suddenly heard an eerie sound. ‘Tttrrrrr.....hhh’ I knew that it was the sound of a chair, but why? No one was there, everyone except me was upstairs as only my bedroom is downstairs. This thought further frightened me. Then a sudden silence came. Even the small noise from the background stopped. I peeked out of my door from a distance and saw a shadow in the scarce light of the living room. I did not move and continued to watch the door. After some time, I continued my work, thinking that the noise must be coming from the neighbor’s house. But then the same noise came again, louder and much clearer. I was scared. My heart started thumping like it was going to come out of my chest. I went to my bed and kept my head low. Everything went completely blank like nothing had happened, but then suddenly my light bulb started flashing and it was at this time I really got goose bumps and hurriedly switched off all the lights in my room and then tried to sleep, but it was of no use. I could not sleep that night.
