Animals are living creatures like human beings. They
eat & sleep like us. They even have families like us.
One thing is for sure: We are ruining their lives. We’ve destroyed many habitats, polluted the atmosphere,
dumped garbage in the ocean, captured them & sold
them thus depriving them of their families & even
sending them off to space!
What would we feel if we were them? Imagine yourself
in their shoes for a moment. If we had to live their lives
for even a week. We would have to hunt in the heat
to catch food for our families. Sleeping in dirt & grass
while we sleep in our cosy homes. If animals were
us, they would do what we do to them: destroying
habitats, polluting the air & water and poaching. Most
people would say “It’s fine, they are animals. They
know how to fit in!” But if we really were them, we
would know how they felt. We may have cried over lost
toys etc., but animals mourn over lost homes or family
members. Another way that really disturbs animals
is poaching. People poach for animal skins, teeth, or
bones. Many animals have gone extinct such as Dodo.
Other extinct animals include mammoths & thylacine,
which would open its mouth for a full 120 degrees.
Endangered animals include Tiger, Rhino, and the most
endangered is with less than 70 individuals: the Amur
Leopard. Imagine how much diversity there must have
been in the past.
We must save the animals because we would need
them in the past. For the hunters of today I have a
question: “What would you feel if you were an animal?” Rida Eiman VI Maroon
