“Be nice to everyone!” I have been listening to these
words since the time I started to understand things.
My parents repeat these words at least ten times in a
day. To tell you the truth I am not a very nice person by
nature. Sometimes I become rude and throw tantrums.
But my parents always advise me to be nice and gentle
to everyone. My class mates usually dislike me for my
rude behaviour. One day something strange happened.
I was sitting in the ground enjoying my scrumptious
lunch when I saw a small, young kid sitting in a corner
and weeping silently. For the first time in my life I felt
bad to see that kid. I got up and walked towards the
child.“Why are you crying?” I asked the child. When she
heard this she started crying loudly. I tried to console
the child and asked her again what was wrong with her.
The child took a deep breath and told me that her
mother had died recently and there was no one to take
care of her as her dad was a really busy person. I felt
bad for the child. I saw that she did not even have her
lunch. I didn’t know how and why I gave my lunch box
to her. As soon as she got the lunch box, there was a
big smile on her face. Something glowed in my heart
and I thought that it was not so difficult to be nice to
others. Maham Riaz IV Fuchsia
